The 5th Annual Dove Springs Treasure Hunt ride is coming up on February 18th-20th. Each year Randy has made this ride bigger and better with some great activities planned for the kids and adult riders as well. We all know that Randy loves his GPS and his gas powered RC cars, so there is sure to be activities involving both! Last year the kids had to find buried treasure using GPS and once found they had to dig to get it out of the ground. That was not only fun for them, but the adults enjoyed watching them stomp around outside of camp looking for the treasure. Randy will also have two pre-planned loops laid out with maps. One will be 20 miles long, the other will be 40 miles. The back country of Dove Springs is PHENOMINAL riding and last year’s long loop
was superb. The ride is on Presidents weekend, so we are expecting a larger than normal turnout of RUTSTERS. Dove springs can be crowded on weekends like this, so we will be camping a bit farther in than most people do. You will likely see large numbers of weekenders on your way in to camp, but the camp area that Randy plans on securing is large and away from most other group camp areas. We look forward to a great weekend.
Going north on 14, 3.5 miles past the Ricardo campground turn off going through Red Rock Canyon. Turn will be on the left and has a left turn lane. Signs will indicate Dove Springs. Travel 3.0 miles on dirt road to camp watching for RUTS signs. Will have my blue light on flag pole.
