Bruce started stealing bikes - we mean riding bikes when he was 8 years old. Bruce and his friends used to like to ride up the train

tracks while running from the cops - to get to Talbert and Beach Blvd to watch the races at Cycle Park Motocross Track. In Jr. High,

Bruce was getting sideways on other peoples bikes as much as possible. Bruce says he preffered the kicked out stance of a good Trail 70, but for

more demanding playgrounds and back alleys, the OSSA’s had the upper hand. Occassionally and upscale kid in town would wonder where his Hodaka

wandered off to - and there was Bruce, plowing the neighbor’s flower garden  and raising a two - stroke stink!

In High School, Bruce bought a Yamaha 360 enduro - the pinicle of preformance in the 50’s - or um 70’s. That summer the school had a class called Motorcycle

Mechanics. From time to time Bruce would take a few laps around the track field on the bikes. Bruce usually carried a chain to beat the letter man jocks with. The school

lost the best atheletes to motorcycle gang injuries - but Bruce rode on! Then came the roaring ‘80’s Bruce tried Saddleback Park for some afternoon racing

fun. On a souped up YZ490 - Bruce was banging bars with the likes of   Bob Hurricaine Hannah ( of course the bar banging happened when the throttle

cable came lose and Bruce crashed into Huricaines pits - they quickly tossed his yellow bike out of red territiory). Enough of this sissy motocross stuff!

At that time Bruce’s mini bike buds were starting to race desert and Bruce found his niche or nick or kick in racing. Bruce has logged thousands of miles

of desert riding and is always up for a scream through the pucker bushes. And lastlty and most importantly Bruce is thankfull for all the Christian

brothers and sisters in RUTS - Praise God!!
