RUTS Racer Commitment Form - 2006

 

As a racer in the RUTS motorcycle club, certain responsibilities are expected to be upheld during the course of the racing season to ensure a safe, fair, and fun experience by all racers in the club.  As a racing member of RUTS, you must read and sign this form and agree to its terms to maintain racer support from the club.  Pit support is provided at all District 37 Desert Scrambles and Hare and Hounds in 2006.  If you have any questions please contact the current Competition Chairperson of the club for 2006, Bill Westby, at (562) 598-9321 or bwestby@vertical.com.

 

As a racer in Racers Under The Son motorcycle club, I do hereby agree to the following requirements:

 

1)      Check in with the pit boss on race day and ensure the pit boss has the following items and information:

a.       My name

b.       My riding number

c.       Number of loops I will be racing

d.       My gas can and/or quick dump (2 loopers)

e.       My goggles (2 loopers)

f.        Special instructions such as water or food during pit (2 loopers)

2)      Where practical or necessary, I will always stop to assist downed riders on the course.

3)      Carry a RUTS Stuck Stub or equivalent with me to communicate problems back to the RUTS pits.

4)      Check in with the pit boss after finishing my race.  The pit boss will remain at the pits until everyone is checked in.

5)      Wear RUTS jersey while racing and/or display RUTS membership stickers on bike or helmet.  Jerseys are available from the apparel designee as found on the RUTS website and newsletter.  Note bibs may be available during the race year, see the pit boss before the race.

6)      Remain in the desert until ALL racers are checked in and accounted for unless specifically granted permission by the serving pit boss of the day.

7)      Remove all your racing items from the pits upon leaving the desert, e.g. gas can, trash, etc.

8)      Work as pit boss, or assign a designee as necessary, for at least one race during the racing year.

9)      Work Meltdown race weekend

10)   Be a positive role model and representative of RUTS

11)   Wear a helmet at all times on my motorcycle or quad and it is in motion.

12)   If possible and desired, be present in the RUTS pits 60 minutes before the assigned Expert row start time to participate in the club prayer before racing.

13)   To my best to coordinate non-pit events with other racers to support each other at those events.
